SOLVED How to remove SQL Server and instance when not available in addremove programs Have a Server 2. DC and had a Sophos antivirus enterprise console with sql server 2. I know, bad idea to put things like that on a DC, not me. The whole thing wasnt working at all and I now need to uninstall it completely including the instance and all sql server software. So I uninstalled the sophos software, that went fine, I then went into addremove and started to uninstall the various parts of SQL only 4 things, I intended to leave the actual SQL Server 2. So I uninstalled SQL VSS writer, and the other 3 things, they all went fine, ran though the uninstaller and finished. I then got to the last thing which was the SQL Server 2. I click on remove and it disappeared from addremove in a second and that was it, nothing happened, the usual installeruninstaller didnt run, nothing. Restarted the server, its still not there in addremove, there is now nothing that relates to SQL Server in addremove. The Microsoft SQL Server folder is still there in the c drive where it was installed to and it has the instance folder there with Backup, Data, Log, etc present. The SQL Server shortcuts are still there in the start menu, when I open Server Configuration Manager it still shows the Sophos instance, so it obviously wasnt uninstalled.
